PAY RATE: £ 15.89 - £ 17.44 PAYE

JOB TYPE: 3 Months contract (Conversion to permanent for potential candidates)

LOCATION: Glasgow, UK (G21)

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week - 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM


THE ROLE:
Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across hospital building services systems.
  • Maintain and repair AHUs, calorifiers, heat stations, water systems, medical gas systems, pressure systems, and support legionella control measures.
  • Respond to breakdowns within SLA timeframes to minimise service disruption.
  • Produce Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and work under Permit-to-Work systems.
  • Complete maintenance reports, certification, and documentation (electronic and paper-based).
  • Support minor installations, improvement works, and small project tasks.
  • Participate in a 1-in-6 on-call rota to provide 24/7 emergency cover.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, infection control, and statutory regulations (including SHTM where applicable).
  • Liaise professionally with NHS clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Travel to other local sites when required.

Essential skills / experience / qualifications:
  • Completed a recognised Plumbing Apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of building services mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work safely under Permit-to-Work procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Willingness to join the on-call rota.
  • Basic First Aid & CPR training (or willingness to complete training if not held).
  • Flexible to travel to other sites if required.
